Community Solutions is proud to announce the addition of two new team members to lead our Taheima Place Residential Treatment home. Carla Taylor, CSAC, is the Clinical Director for Taheima Place. She is a Norfolk State graduate with a Master’s Degree in Urban Education specializing in Guidance and Counseling. For the past 14 years Ms. Taylor has worked in the substance abuse and mental health fields with adolescents and adults in a variety of clinical programs including In-home Counseling with youth, Mental Health Support Services with adults, and as the Program Director of a methadone clinic. She is a certified provider of the Seven Challenges Counseling Program that she incorporates into all of her client work. Carla excels at providing guidance and support to Community Solutions’ clients in a holistic and positive manner. Corey Phillips, Taheima Place Program Director is a native of rocky Mount, NC who migrated to the Hampton Roads area to attend Norfolk State University on an athletic scholarship. He graduated from NSU in 1993 majoring in Sociology. Mr. Phillips is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) who has over 26 years of experience working with at risk juveniles and adults with substance abuse and mental health challenges. He worked for MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) programs for the past 7 years and is a practitioner of Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), an evidenced-based modality particularly effective with chemically dependent clients. He has many years of experience working within the field of addiction as a counselor and case manager and he is a certified practitioner with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
